Why do I need a company
website?
At one time, it was proclaimed that "someday" Internet
addresses would be given instead of phone numbers in all advertising.
This concept was dismissed only five years ago. Now having
a business card with a web address gives a company a way to
connect to customers without having to carry brochures and
other throwaway items that cost thousands of dollars to produce.

Do I get to see a proof
of my site before developing begins?
Part of the up front cost on a website designed by Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs is our creation of up to three different sketches
of your possible home page design. Unless you decline this
service, you will be shown proofs that you can approve or
have reworked before site development begins.

How much do web updates
cost?
There are three routes you can take on figuring out update
costs. First, if you have frequent updates, Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs
offers Monthly Maintenance Packages that has a certain allotment
of updates per month. We also offer an hourly rate if updates
will be infrequent. If you have in-house staff that you feel
could handle the updates we can train your employees to use
Macromedia Dreamweaver or Contribute, this can be a great
savings for you.

How long will it take
to build my website?
This will vary by the size of job and the resources available.
Small sites can take as little as a week to build, but larger
sites can take months. Some customers opt to build their sites
in phases. This is a good idea if you plan an extensive website
but you need results now. Unfortunately there are always factors
that go into delaying a web project, including delays in receiving
items like copy and graphics from the customer or the over
extending of the website developer. At Tigerweb, we will
make sure to block out your development time on the day of
contract signing. That time will be yours and deadlines will
be met (unless you are unable to provide materials within
the allotted time, then time will be extended on a first come
first serve basis to protect other customers deadlines).

What markets do you
cover?
Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs is located in Greer, a growing community
between Greenville and Spartanburg in upstate South Carolina.
While we prefer to stay within 75 miles of this territory
to keep our personal touch in tact, exceptions can be made.
The web makes expanding to new markets enticing, but we feel
our customers will be better served by having a developer
that knows the area and its people.

What is a website inspection
report?
Ever have a home inspection? The Website Inspection Report
is the same thing except for your website. It features over
100 quality checks that are presented to you in a booklet
that you can use in your redesign with us or any other web
development firm. There is no obligation to use our services
with this report, however, some of the cost will be deducted
from your web development bill if you choose us.

How do people find my
website upon completion?
Search engines and web directories provide one of the best
ways for people to find your site, but they are by no means
the only way. Put your web address on all letterhead, business
cards, advertisements and announcements. Also, when you talk
with a new customer, point them to your site, or give them
a quick tour. That will increase their chances of returning
to the site on their own time.

Who provides web copy
and other content?
All logos and web copy is the responsibility of you the customer.
We prefer high-resolution images and copy in Microsoft Word
documents. Fees can apply for other formats. Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs
can offer web copy creation services and logo creation. We
will be up front about the quality, use of partners and costs
on any of these services.

My son/daughter is
learning web design, why shouldn't I use them?
Depending on their skill level, this could be a viable option,
or it could be a disaster. One of the advantages of using
a web development company like Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs is that
you know the company has business experience as well as basic
HTML and graphic crafting skills. We have taken the lumps
over the years and learned to perfect our craft. You may not
have this same experience with your son or daughter. You can
always utilize our low cost Website Inspection Report service
to verify the plusses and minuses of their site before you
launch it.

Who owns the
website upon completion of the project?
Once all fees are paid, the website is turned over to you
completely. Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs gives up all rights to use
any of your company's materials within and the design is yours.
We do however, ask that we are allowed to link to your site
for Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs promotion of our designed sites.

I have decided to use
Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs, what do I do now?
Use the contact form or call us to set up a sit down consultation.
Once we agree that a contract to design would be beneficial,
we require a 25% up front deposit on the total project. If
the site is to be completed in phases, a 40% up front deposit
is required on the phase that is about to be developed.

How can I speed the
development of my site?
First, browse the web for your competition and companies that
have websites you like. This initial research helps us see
what you like and helps us achieve a design that fits your
concept. Also, have all materials to us in a timely manner
will reduce unnecessary delays.

How much do you charge
for website design services?
Our services vary in price. Our prices are very competitive
in the industry and we are happy to give a good faith quote
on any project up front Before any development begins, final
costs for the phase or full project will be given. This will
be your final cost unless you request changes or additions
during development. Don't be shy about asking for a quote
through our contact us form.

Are there any hidden
charges I will encounter down the road?
No. If you request maintenance we will be up front about any
issues that could cause increased rates. Also, when you sign
your contract for site development, the agreed on price remains
firm. Amendments to the charges will only be added if change
request forms are required to amend the original project plan.

How much will site hosting
and a web domain name purchasing be?
Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs can set up your site hosting and domain
purchasing automatically. Domain name purchasing can be as
little as $20 a year. Web hosting depends on your needs, but
can be as low as $15 a month with a $50 setup fee.

Do I need my own server?
If you have an on-site server or hosting company already,
we can use your existing set up. We will require access to
the server through FTP and any appropriate passwords and permissions.
If you do not have a server, we can set you up on an extremely
reliable service at a very reasonable cost.

Do I need a domain or
can you help me get one?
If you already have a domain name, we can help walk you through
getting it pointed to a server. If you need a domain name,
we can get one for you at as low as $20 a year.

Do I need to use a local
web design service?
For years our sites have been hosted in Utah. The web allows
you to do things you were never able to do in the past. But
when it comes to designing a website that fits the market,
it is sometimes better to use local services. But many national
companies can supply adequate services to you by phone and
email.

Can you provide us with
company email?
If you purchase your web hosting through us, we can provide
you with one email account (yourname@yourdomain.com). Additional
accounts will be a low one-time processing fee. There could
be a limit on total accounts allowed.

Do you provide network
services and other IT functions?
Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs is first and foremost a web development
firm with marketing and graphical skills. We have no certification
in network services or IT beyond the CIW (Certified Internet
Webmaster) Site Designer and Internet Basics certification.
We will do our best to point you other sources that can assist
you with those needs. If you host your site with our hosting
service, they have technicians who are certified for server
maintenance.

Another designer created
our site, can Tigerweb - Greenville Web Designs perform maintenance for
us?
It depends on what technology they used to build it. If the
designer used FrontPage Extensions or a technology we are
not comfortable with, we will let you know and may determine
it is better not to.
